My Background:
- My pronouns are she/her/hers.
- I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. I moved to Lexington for around ten years. Now I am back living in my hometown of Louisville, I’m happy to be home!
- As a child, I was in a traumatic car accident, and I genuinely believe that without my therapist, I would not have been able to move forward and seek a fulfilling life. I knew I wanted to be that source of help, comfort, and understanding for others struggling.
- For my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, I attended the University of Kentucky.
- After graduating from the UK, I attended Eastern Kentucky University, receiving my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
My Approach:
- My specialties include: Anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, bipolar, mood instability, life transitions, and LGBTQIA+ related concerns.
- I’m passionate about helping people, motivating others, and giving them the necessary tools while providing a safe environment to facilitate personal growth.
- I enjoy being a part of a client’s journey to wherever they need to go.
- I utilize a multitude of evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy, among others!
- Throughout our time together, I strive to bring what the client needs to each session – a cheerleader, an external processor, a neutral party, a motivator, etc.
- I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community; I am a welcoming, open, and nonjudgmental source to help those in the community.
Fun Facts:
- I enjoy playing softball or other sports, doing sudoku puzzles, playing trivia with my friends, and exploring the outdoors.
- Spending as much time as possible with my friends and family is also a must.
- I will rewatch the show 14 times and gravitate toward the same comfort podcasts.
